The students will have a Vocabulary Test on Friday.  Their Science Fiction Presentations are due on Monday and Tuesday of next week, depending on the day that they were assigned. 

 

Today, the students received Vocabulary List 6.  They have a Science Fiction Project due on the 21st or 22nd of this month, depending on the days they were assigned by me.  Their Vocabulary List 6 Test will be on Friday.

 

Sorry, I have not been on in a while.  We have been working on poetry the last couple of days.  We've studied Edgar Allan Poe and Emily Dickinson.  In Language Arts, we've been studying comma rules.  Each student will have an oral book report/presentation due on November 21st or November 22nd.  I have already passed out the rubric.  Their book reports will be on a science fiction novel that they chose.

 

Language Arts- Today, we studied the author's purpose for writing.  They were provided with the three main reasons and examples.

 

Reading- We started our Science Fiction unit in the books.

 

Today the students received Vocabulary List Three words.  Their test will be on Friday.  In Reading, the students finished up questions from a short story entitled "Seventh Grade."  Progress reports will go out tomorrow.

 

Vocabulary List 2 was given to all LA classes.

HW - label each word by it part of speech and come up with a story using 6 vocabulary words.

 

My reading classes will have a test on "Rikki Tikki Tavi" tomorrow.  Today, my Language Arts classes identified subjects and predicates.

 

My Reading classes finished "Rikki Tikki Tavi" today.  We will have a classroom discussion on it tomorrow.  In Language Arts, all of my students made vocabulary comics.  Our List One Vocabulary Test will be on Friday.

 

All of my Language Arts classes went to the library today.  In Reading, we started reading "Rikki Tikki Tavi."

 

Today we read "Duffy's Jacket."  I made the students retell the story to me, and they did an excellent job.  In Language Arts, the students worked on a "TV Show Assignment" that will be due tomorrow.
